Class information:

APRIL 22, 2016 (9AM - 12PM)
Freehand 101 ($75 + GST)

In this fun and informative class, we will go through some of my favourite designs from my video series #FMQ101. Theses designs are meant to be ideas for allover or edge-to-edge quilting and stitched at a scale compatible to the top. They can be stitched in all manner of density regardless of which design you plan on using. We, as quilters, all have our own handwriting so our quilting should reflect that. Some quilt light and loose and open while some like their quilts more densely quilted. I, for one, am a ‘quilt it to death’ girl.

APRIL 22, 2016 (1PM - 4PM)
Fantastical Fillers ($75 + GST)

Fillers serve many purposes in quilting. They can be used as the ‘star of the show’ or as a way to flatten an area to showcase appliqué or trapunto work. The density of the filler and the type of thread used will drastically change to look and feel so these are things to consider when deciding on a filler design to use. No matter what you choose, fillers are so much fun and that makes it all good. I LOVE fillers!

APRIL 23, 2016 (9AM - 12PM)
Sensational Spineless Sashings ($75 + GST)

Sometimes the sashing is the hardest part of the quilt to come up with designs for. Often too narrow for anything elaborate, but too large for something simple, sashings can surely be a conundrum. In this class, we get daring and go spine free! These designs are from my video series #FMQ101. All are quilter friendly and, for the most part, there isn’t even any backtracking!!

APRIL 23, 2016 (1PM - 4PM)
Not Your Basic Feather ($75 + GST)
In this class, we will go through 12 of my favourite feather alternatives from the series of videos #FMQ101. Don’t get me wrong, traditional feathers are beautiful and it is usually every quilter's desire to master them just as painters have the desire to master a realistic rose or a baker making the perfect soufflé. Traditional feathers, however, certainly have their place and I would never say not to learn how to do them well. I love quilting traditional ‘bump back’ feathers, but there are so many more possibilities when you let your imagination run away with you.
